Family Ministries Update

Faith Families,

April zipped by and we are already into May. I think I say this every time, but where is the time going?! April started with the worst and best days of the year, Good Friday and Easter. We learned about Prayer in worship and also in Sunday School. We made our own prayer beads for the kids to use at home and at church. Speaking of Sunday School, it has been a great year learning about different people of the Bible and the parables Jesus taught. Our final class for this school year will be May 17th. We will talk a break for the summer and resume again in September. I will be having to take a little time off due to some health concerns and surgery I am going to have to have. Don’t worry though, I’m not going anywhere!

I love Faith UMC and our kids WAY too much! Every morning I wake up and pray and my job/church/Faith families are on my top 3!

We still have some fun happenings this month of May.
May 3rd 11am- Last Connect Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group for this school year. Lunch & hide and seek & other silly games
May 10th- Arts Alive Art Show and Sale – come Saturday or Sunday and enjoy the masterpieces we have created during this winter session Arts Alive. You will have the opportunity to take your own piece of art home with a free will donation. The proceeds will benefit My Joyful Heart in Mokena. Thank you to everyone who came and created at our Arts Alive nights this session. It was a pleasure creating with you.

May 17th
– Last day of Sunday School this school year
May 17th 11am – Last Family Fun for the school year. Open gym and games. Lunch will be served. If the spirit moves you, bring a dish/treat to share.

Looking ahead:
July 24-26 – Family Camp @ Stronghold Retreat Center Families, we will be going to a family camp. Sign up outside of room 4 & register online with Mrs. Amanda. With the support of our Summer Camp Scholarships & the RaiseRight mission program from Genie Lang, it will be $25.00 per person.

What’s included? Private 2 queen bed and 1 pull out chair with private bath per family, all activities, and food for the entire weekend. This will be a wonderful weekend to get away with our Faith Families, unplug and get into God’s creation. Hiking, games, crafts, swimming, and other fun camp activities. Space is limited to 30 people and payment due to Faith @ time of sign-up. Any questions, please see me, or call/text me 708-268-9235.
