Happy Fall Y’all,

October brings some hot days, but also cooler crisp days with chilly evenings. Crunching leaves and popping acorns, which is my favorite fall pastime. Kids get excited for Halloween costumes and trick or treating. How does Fall touch your soul? When the leaves turn and fall to the ground it reminds us that we too are always changing and it's ok to leave things behind that no longer fit into our lives. It makes way for rebirth in the spring.

We changed things up this year with our first ever All In Auction. We had a wonderful afternoon with the most  unbelievable spread of food donated by our Circles and All in committee. Thank you all for your time and delicious goodies. I am still dreaming about how delicious that Orange Dreamsicle was from the Dirty Soda Bar. I hope you all had something fun made from the girlies mixing up frothy goodness. Our kitchen crew was top notch. They helped keep those tables full of all of the goodies for our guests to enjoy. Thank you, ladies, for all of your hard work. The runners and sticky note ladies kept things on track and organized for our winners to find their winnings at the end of the evening. Our silent auction team did a great job displaying the many treasures that were donated. Thank you, team, for helping get that all situated and smooth to bid on such fun items. Thanks to Mike Morrone and Ed Schuck for doing check-in and getting everyone their program and paddle. A special thank you to Lynn Low for making all of the paddles and the beautiful table decorations. It looked lovely. Last, but not least, the live auction, which included the Auction of Promise items, what a BLAST!!! It was a great time for all who attended. We had over 70 items to auction off from seasonal baskets, to gift cards, to an antique church bench. It was so much fun getting to be the auctioneer and mc for the afternoon. It was great getting to have Werner, my husband, display each live auction item, like "Vanna White." I need to say two special thank yous, 1. Sandy Ward who helped make this such a great event with her partnership and guidance. I truly couldn't have done it without you. 2. Theresa  Philosophos for making such a beautiful program and any of the printed items we needed created. We threw a lot at you and you made it look flawless.

Now for the part you really care about... How much did we make????? We had a huge goal of $12,000 for our  Family Ministries and other programming at Faith. As of writing this newsletter we have raised $12,695!!!! From the bottom of my heart thank you for everyone's donations, baskets, time, and talents. It definitely paid off. If you missed it this year, don't worry, you can join us again next year. Because this was WAY too much fun not to do again!

Save the Date for October Happenings:

Sundays during worship: Sunday School Pre-k - 5th & Jr. & Sr. High

Sunday, October 4th 11am -1pm: Connect: Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group

Come spend the afternoon playing games and making friends. We will order Culvers for lunch and see how Jesus was in our lives this week.

Saturday, October 17th 5pm-7pm: Trunk or Treat Indoors (Set up will be 4:00)

Bring the kids and put on a costume for this year's Trunk or Treat. We are switching it up a little. We are moving inside so we don't have to worry about weather. We will have "Trunks" decorated throughout the halls of the  building, in the alcoves of the doors, and in the fellowship hall. There will be games and chances to win one of the raffle baskets. Sign up outside of room 4 to decorate a "trunk" space. We will be accepting candy donations and they can be brought to my office. Please label trunk or treat.

(If you have a trunk please bring 2 bags of candy. I will have extra for refilling.)

We had a huge turnout last year. Let's have another fun year. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. First come first choice of your space.  May this month bring you joy and peace in the reminder of change.

Many blessings,

Amanda Steenvoorden
