Since 1982, Operation Blessing of Southwest Chicagoland has been serving the south western suburban communities of Chicago. Every month, more than 1,400 families receive assistance from us. Whether you need food for the family, a listening ear, or an encouraging word, visit us today.
Operation Blessing receives no government support. We are supported by monetary donations and donations in kind from individuals, churches, and local businesses. Most of the work of sorting and packing food items, picking up donations, working in the office, or other daily activities are done by volunteers.
Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ, feeding people body, mind, and spirit. We welcome people of all ages, ethnic groups and religions.
In addition to our regular food pantry efforts, we've also operated the Bread of Life Program since 1994. We deliver food and Easter treats to the neediest families during the Easter Season.
If you have school-age children, you can also receive school supplies in the late summer or Christmas presents through Our 'Toys for Christmas' program.
We also make available gently used coats, hats and gloves during the winter months.
