Family Ministries Update
Hello Faith Families,
As we finish up the last few moments of summer and fall is hinting around the corner with leaves starting to glimmer with the hints of yellow, I want to reflect on a couple of our family outings we had here at Faith. When I wrote my August article we hadn't gone to Family Camp yet, well let me tell you, it was truly a weekend we will never forget. Stronghold Center was exactly what all of our souls needed. We had 24 kids, parents, and grandparents go for 2 nights and 3 days. We made tie dye shirts, swam, played archery, and yours truly got a perfect center bullseye, along with many of us hitting on the mark. We must have spent 2 hours playing there. Stella swung from trees on what sounded like a human swing/slingshot, lol. Stella and Hunter did a high ropes thing that looked scary from the pictures I saw. And some learned how to shoot a slingshot. Campfires were wonderful with the camp counselors singing favorites like "Here I am Lord" and "Pharaoh, Pharaoh." On Saturday we got to enjoy s'mores over a HUGE firepit. I think anyone who had one, walked away STICKY! The food was amazing. Actually, it was the best camp food I had ever tasted. We played games, did crafts, kids made blanket forts, and overall had such wonderful fellowship and bonding together. Sunday, they had a petting farm which was so sweet and the cutest cows, goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, and donkeys along with a worship service. It was truly a blessing to get to spend the weekend with such wonderful families. A huge THANK YOU to Genie Lang and RaiseRight for sponsoring our families and helping make it possible for all those who enjoyed the weekend. When we were all packing up on Sunday I had so many kids AND parents asking me if we will be coming back next year. My answer was I HOPE SO!!!!
Faith at the Lake & BBQ at my house was wonderful as well. We had 20 meet up at Cedar Lake Beach. The kids swam and played in the sand digging holes and making sandcastles. It was a perfect day with spotty clouds, beautiful warm sun, a lovely breeze, and a COLD lake, lol. It did not seem to bother the kids AT ALL! After a couple of hours, we headed down the street to my house where Mr. Werner had grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and snacks were waiting for some HUNGRY tummies. We all talked, laughed, ate, and played some silly game my daughter Zoe found on TikTok with numbers on our heads. We finished the night with "bags," badminton, campfire, and quick smores. It was such a blessing to get to share my home with my Faith Family and finish out the summer with such great fellowship.
So, what is happening in September, LOTS!
September 13 @ 10am: Kick-Off Sunday: Sunday School will begin that day with kids leaving for class after Faith Kids. 4yrs - 5th grade in room 20. 6th grade - 12th grade will have their own Sunday School class in room 15.
September 20 @ 2pm doors open: All In: Live Auction, Auction of Promise, & Silent Auction This will be our largest fundraiser for Family Ministries. We love getting to offer programming free of charge, so we need EVERYONE to come and BID, BID, BID! We will have complimentary babysitting available for children up through 5th grade. This is not a kid friendly event, only because they WILL be bored, lol, so we got it covered. Our jr. high & high school kids will be helping at the Auction. Tickets will be on sale after worship in the Narthex 8/30, 9/6, & 9/13. Hope to see everyone there.

I can't wait to see you all for kickoff on Sept 13th, I have truly missed seeing my little friends each week.
