Good Day Faith Families,

February is the shortest month of a long winter and I think it's because once we get over that February hump, we are so close to spring. I mean it is the halfway mark through winter and that is something to be grateful for! We also think of LOVE in February because of Valentine's Day. Or maybe some people DON'T and say it was just created by Hallmark to sell candy and cards. Maybe so, but that is the second part of what Jesus told us to do; "Love your Neighbor as yourself." So maybe Hallmark is just helping us remember for 1 day out of 365 that LOVE is important to give and receive. One thing I know for sure is that my family and I are so unbelievably grateful for your love and prayers while we had some medical issues last month.

At the end of December, Family Ministries treated our Family Fun Families to a day at the movies and we saw "David" together. It was so much fun seeing the story they had learned in Sunday School class come to life for them on the big screen. The kids were on the edge of their seats the whole time. It was a blessing to be together after Christmas for something fun to do together.

We also watched "A Minecraft Movie" in the sanctuary for Family Fun in January. We pulled out the bean bag chairs and enjoyed popcorn and fun together. It was a little loud, but I think everyone had a good time.

So what's planned for February?

Connect: Sunday, February 8th /12pm - 1:30pm
Our Jr. High and Sr. High Youth Group will be playing games and making valentines for our
Veterans in Manteno, and enjoying lunch together.

Family Fun: Sunday, February 15th / 12pm - 1:30pm
Open gym and lunch. ALL are welcome to enjoy an afternoon of fun with other families at
Faith.

Arts Alive: Begins, Friday, February 27 / 6pm - 7:30pm
Arts Alive is back again! Come one, Come All, Artist or Beginner, Kids and Adults alike, everyone is welcome. We will be exploring a new artist each month and re-create their style of artwork. In May we will hold an Art Show & Sale where the proceeds will go to "My Joyful Heart", a local charity benefiting local kids in need. Any questions, please see Mrs. Amanda

I want to remind you that even though it is dark and the dead of winter, remember that Jesus is the light in the darkness, and wherever you let him shine his love, it will light the way.

Many blessings,
Amanda Steenvoorden
