Pastor Jacques A. Conway
Pastor Jacques A. Conway was raised on the South Side of Chicago. In the 1980’s, while still in college, he served as a Youth Leader and Lay Speaker at Rust Memorial United Methodist in the Englewood community. He has a BA and MBA Certificate from Loyola University in Chicago, a Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary, and is a Fellow of Princeton Theological Seminary Black Theology and Leadership Institute. Pastor Conway also holds a Doctorate of Divinity from Colgate Crozier Divinity School in Rochester, NY.
Prior to becoming a full time pastor, he retired from the Oak Park, IL Police Department, where he served as a Senior Sergeant and Police Chaplain. He still serves as Chaplain for the Fraternal Order of Police and for the US Secret Service.
Pastor Conway has served as the Senior Pastor at Christ UMC (Greater Englewood Parish, Chicago, IL) and Neighborhood UMC (Maywood, IL), and most recently has served as District Superintendent for the Chicago South/Lake South District of the Northern Illinois Conference.
Pastor Conway is married to his high school sweetheart, LaMenta “Sweetie” Conway, MD, MPH. Dr. Conway is Deputy Chief of Medicine for the Illinois Department of Corrections and is the Founder and Board President of the I Am Abel Foundation, which mentors future physicians. The Conways have been married since 1984 and have three adult children, Christian (Mark), Corey, and Caleb. Pastor Conway’s “mother in love,” Louise Tibbs, resides with them in their home in Flossmoor, IL.
